RACE TALKS: Uniting to Break the Chains of Racism has been hosting virtual forums at Kennedy McMenamins since 2011. Every forum experience is divided into two parts: the first hour is a community welcome and curated program; the second hour is facilitated break-out discussions for attendees and panelists to interact.
Each program panel is usually comprised primarily of People of Color, who are invited to discuss a historical or contemporary experience through the lens of race and racism. Through these panel and breakout discussions, we hope to start a life-long dialogue between groups of people who generally talk about each other, but not to each other. In-person and virtual participation is available.
