RACE TALKS is offering its Race Dialogue Facilitator Training & Certification course. This is a unique opportunity to gain facilitation skills and become certified by a program that has been leading conversations in race dialogue for over 10 years. This is an interactive training experience that will give you all the feels. This is both an educational and life changing opportunity to transform. Participants will:
- Be transformed in their personal understanding of how racism impacts and influences daily decision making.
- Learn how to dismantle institutional white supremacy and systemic racism.
- Explore individual and collective stories of how race and racism has impacted your life and the relationships you form.
- Explore cultural communication styles and build confidence engaging in conversations focused on race and racism.
- Learn how to identify and deescalate conflict when it arises in communication.
- Build confidence identifying and addressing triggers, like microaggressions, when they arise in conversation.
- Gain experience planning a RACE TALKS forum, use public speaking and presentation skills, and facilitating group discussions.
Outcome: Upon completion of this 21-hour course, participants will be invited to become a RACE TALKS Facilitator and gain up to an additional 100-hours of hands on facilitation training at our monthly forums.
Next Step: Review the Course Menu.
We understand that tolerance for time spent on Zoom may vary. The two options below (One Month Intensive and Three Month Training) are structured to accommodate these differences. The content in both training sessions is the same, only the pace has changed. These courses are designed for individuals who are 18 years and older. See below for youth, group, and corporate training.
All cohorts have a 12-person maximum capacity to ensure an intimate learning experience. Sign-up is on a first-come basis. We may offer a waitlist in case we reach capacity and experience a cancellation. Waitlisted participants must have tuition paid in full by the course start date.
